Age Group Swimming
|
Dear BAC Swimming Families,
Thank you for your continued support as we continue to grow our program and help our swimmers achieve new levels of success. BAC has been able to keep the cost of our youth swimming program as one of the lowest in the area and has not had a fee increase in five years. As the Board recently reviewed the costs necessary to continue to support the development of our swimmers, it determined that a moderate fee increase was necessary beginning with the 2010 fall quarter. This decision was supported by a survey which showed that BAC fees were lower than all other comparable clubs in the Peninsula, in some cases by more than 50%.
The increased fees will enable us to set funds aside for specific improvements to our swimming program such as additional pool space and better coach/swimmer ratios. All funds collected by the Club through the increases will go directly back into the swim program for these future enhancements that we believe to be crucial for our continued competitive growth.
Effective at the start of this year’s fall quarter, August 16, all age group swimming dues will adhere to the following quarterly fee schedule:
· Pre-comp/Barracuda: $195
· Bronze: $240
· Silver: $310
· Gold: $360
· Senior: $385
A $20 late fee per invoice will also be effective at the start of the fall quarter. Note that we will continue to offer the same family discounts when multiple kids participate in our swimming program, as well as dual sport discounts for swimmers who also play water polo. These discounts are unique to BAC and we strongly believe they are right for our Club.
BAC is glad to keep the cost of program enrollment on the low side of the market and to offer such a high-quality swim experience. We look forward to having you and your family as members for years to come.
On behalf of BAC and the Board,
Suze Gardner Terry Horn
BAC Club Director BAC Board President |

Age Group Polo
|
| First, identify your appropriate age group. USA Water Polo guidelines NOW state that the age of an athlete will be determined as of the start date of the National Championship. For example: Boys National Junior Olympics begins on July 31, 2010. If an athlete turns 17 on July 30, 2010 then they must play with the 18 & under. If an athlete turns 17 on August 1, 2010 then they may play with the 16 & under. Please note that the Girls National Junior Olympics begins on August 5th, 2010. |
* Members whose abilities exceed the average levels of those within their age bracket may be invited to join the playing group one level up. In such cases, these players may be allowed to play games with both groups but will practice with the older group. Please note that the coaching staff retains sole discretion regarding the placement of each athlete into a particular playing group. |
| Second, once you have found the appropriate training group, locate the appropriate fees for that program below and make a note of the total for your personal records. Please also locate the appropriate practice times and make a note of those as well. |
| Third, verify your membership with USA Water Polo. If you need to register with USA Water Polo you can do so online: https://webpoint.usawaterpolo.com/wp/memberships/join.asp. All Age Group athletes should register as a Silver member. Pee-Wee athletes should register as a Splashball member. You will immediately be given a membership number. Please make a note of this in your personal records. |
| Fourth, transfer and record the necessary information to the BAC Athlete Registration Form and complete the remaining sections. |
| Lastly, either mail in or drop off at the pool your completed BAC Athlete Registration Form. Have fun! |

BAC Dual Sport Training
|
If you are interested in both age group swimming and age group water polo, BAC recommends signing-up for the dual-sport program that will enable you to successfully compete in both sports.
|
| First, prior to beginning training with the swim team you will need to schedule a Swim Tryout with the coaching staff in order to determine what group is the best match. You will also need to identify your appropriate age group for water polo training. USA Water Polo guidelines state that it is your age at the END of the calendar year which determines your placement. For example, if you are currently 16 but turn 17 prior to the end of the CALENDAR year then you should be on the 18 and Under team. |
| Second, once you have found the appropriate training groups, locate the appropriate fees for that combination of programs below and make a note of the total for your personal records. |
| Third, ensure that you are registered with both Pacific Swimming and USA Water Polo. If you need to register with Pacific Swimming, you need to pick up a copy of that form from a coach at the pool office. Payment for Pacific Swimming and is covered in the BAC annual registration fee. If you need to register with USA Water Polo you can do so online: https://webpoint.usawaterpolo.com/wp/memberships/join.asp. All athletes should register as a Silver member. |
| Fourth, transfer and record the necessary information to the BAC Athlete Registration Form and complete the remaining sections. |
| Lastly, either mail in or drop off at the pool your completed BAC Athlete Registration Form along with any annual registration forms for Pacific Swimming. Have fun! |
